We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross‑border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross‑border trade.

Job Description Summary PayPal is seeking a Learning Experience Designer to design immersive, AI‑augmented, multi‑modal learning that builds faster teammate readiness and personalization.

Essential Responsibilities

Own the end‑to‑end development and delivery of learning programs, applying adult learning methodologies and instructional design principles to create programs that address specific learner needs.

Identify the most suitable formats for training materials based on learner needs, and lead the creation of targeted, engaging content that aligns with learner experience design and program objectives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders throughout the learning program development process, gathering program requirements and translating them into strategic, impactful learning programs that align with organizational goals.

Lead collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure learning programs align with business objectives, adjusting approaches as needed to meet evolving needs and ensuring scalability and effectiveness.

Assess the effectiveness of learning programs, implement continuous improvements, and identify the most suitable learning technologies and methodologies to enhance program delivery and learner engagement.

Expected Qualifications

3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

What you need to know about the role The Learning Experience Designer will bring user‑centered design to build future‑ready, performance and skill‑based learning that is data‑driven, simulation‑enhanced, and scalable across internal and partner audiences.

In your day‑to‑day role you will:

Design End‑to‑End Learning Experiences

Create engaging, human‑centered learning journeys that align with business outcomes and learner needs, blending digital, virtual, and experiential components seamlessly.

Apply Learning Science and Design Thinking

Use proven learning science principles, data insights, and design thinking methods to craft experiences that enhance retention, motivation, and on‑the‑job performance.

Develop Skill‑Based Learning Programs

Translate role capabilities and business priorities into skill‑based curricula that focus on measurable proficiency improvement rather than time‑based completion.

Leverage AI and Automation in Design

Use AI tools (e.g. iXHello, Syntheisa, Easygenerator) to accelerate content design, personalize learning pathways, and generate adaptive or scenario‑based materials.

Create Digital and Multimedia Learning Assets

Design and produce high‑quality eLearning, videos, simulations, and microlearning content that are interactive, scalable, and aligned with brand and accessibility standards.

Collaborate Cross‑Functionally with SMEs and Partners

Work closely with Learning Curriculum Managers, subject matter experts, Learning Architect, and the Managed Service Partner to co‑create and validate content accuracy and impact.

Continuously Evaluate and Improve Learning Solutions

Gather learner feedback, usage data, and performance metrics to iterate and refine learning experiences for maximum effectiveness and learner satisfaction.

Integrate Learning into the Flow of Work

Design for immediacy, embedding learning moments into systems like Salesforce, digital adoption platforms, and other workflow tools.

Ensure Compliance, Inclusivity, and Accessibility

Build learning solutions that meet internal governance, compliance, and accessibility (e.g. WCAG) standards while being inclusive for a diverse global workforce.

Champion Innovation and Experimentation

Stay ahead of learning technology and experience design trends, piloting new AI, simulation, or immersive approaches to continuously elevate learner engagement and ROI.

What do you need to bring?

3+ years in instructional/experience design

Mastery of ID tools: Articulate Storyline, Vyond, Adobe Captivate and Camtasia

Strong grasp of learning science and user‑experience (UX)

Familiarity with simulation, Digital Adoption Platforms (DAP), Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)

Understanding of xAPI and analytics integration

Passion for innovation and inclusion in learning

Skilled at stakeholder facilitation and proposal prototyping

Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience. The total compensation for this practice may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
