
Overview
Are you an experienced construction professional with a passion for managing projects from start to finish? Gibian LLC is seeking a
Traveling Superintendent
to oversee and coordinate our commercial construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to delivering high-quality results. Superintendents will be required to travel to jobs and stay in employer-paid hotels for commutes over 1.5 hours.
Our jobs range from NY to NC
along the East Coast. Work in occupied facilities will require work being completed during the second or third shift.
As a
Site Superintendent , you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of construction projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards. You will collaborate with subcontractors, coordinate with owners/clients, and address any on-site challenges to ensure successful project completion.
Compensation
Salary range - $85,000 - $100,000
401(k) with matching employer contribution up to 4% (after 1 year)
Paid Time Off
Mileage Reimbursement: The company reimburses for mileage beyond 50 miles daily at the IRS rate (currently, .70 per mile)
Responsibilities
Oversee daily site operations and ensure projects run smoothly
Review all drawings to understand the project scope and requirements
Coordinate and schedule inspections required by local authorities
Supervise subcontractors, laborers, and other on-site personnel
Ensure all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
Manage construction schedules and keep projects on track for timely completion
Communicate potential change orders and additional costs with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator
Enforce safety protocols, including OSHA compliance and mandatory use of protective gear
Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all workers understand job hazards
Report project progress, site conditions, and challenges to the Project Manager and Project Coordinator
Complete and submit weekly reports by Monday morning
Identify and resolve site issues, including labor disputes and equipment malfunctions
Conduct equipment inspections to ensure proper function and avoid accidents
Act as the primary contact for subcontractors, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and quality
Attend project meetings and provide necessary updates
Lead by example with strong time management, organization, and proactive problem-solving
Maintain clear and open communication with all stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
Qualifications
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including second or third shifts
Minimum 6+ years of Construction Project Management experience OR a degree in Construction Management or related field
Experience in commercial construction required, with experience in medical work preferred
Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural, and Engineering plans
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Excel, Project, and Word is required
