As our Assistant Director, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the Center Director to ensure that each day runs smoothly, staff feel supported, and families feel connected. You’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining quality, compliance, and community spirit. You will: Support daily center operations including staffing, scheduling, and enrollment Coach and mentor teachers through observations, feedback, and classroom support Help ensure Montessori principles and MSDE/OCC standards are met Build positive relationships with families through open communication Lead family engagement events, tours, and community activities Manage records and assist with compliance documentation Step into the Director’s role when needed to ensure a safe, seamless environment Support onboarding, professional growth, and staff development Qualifications
MSDE Lead Staff qualification required Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
OR
90-hour Preschool Certification + 45-hour Director/Admin Course + 3 years of experience CPR/First Aid, Basic Health & Safety, and 9-Hour Communication Course Background check and medical clearance required Leadership or administrative experience in licensed child care preferred Familiarity with the Montessori approach a plus!
