The Claiborne at Baton Rouge is hiring an Assistant Culinary Services Director is a working leader who helps manage the dining program and kitchen operations. This role has real management responsibility, not just task work. The primary duty is supervising staff, directing kitchen operations, and making decisions that impact the department. This position regularly exercises independent judgment and helps run the department in the Director’s absence. Responsibilities

Assists in directing daily culinary operations with authority to make operational decisions Supervises kitchen staff, including assigning work, evaluating performance, and recommending hiring, discipline, and termination Leads shift coverage, staffing plans, and operational adjustments without direct oversight Serves as acting Culinary Services Director in the Director’s absence Assists with cooking as needed to support operations. Enforces food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards Assists with budget management, purchasing decisions, inventory controls, and cost containment Reviews invoices, ordering patterns, and waste trends Qualifications

3+ years of culinary or food service experience 1+ year of supervisory or management experience ServSafe Manager certification preferred Knowledge of healthcare or senior living dining standards preferred EEOC Statement
