Calyx Containers is looking for a motivated and talented National Account Manager to join our growing team. National Account Managers collaborate with internal teams to retain and drive net-new business opportunities from initial prospecting through negotiation and close. As a dedicated first line of contact for Calyx’s top strategic partners, NAMs are expected to understand the full dynamic of the markets in which their customers operate, including the customer’s historical M&A activity, future prospective market growth, key stakeholders in decision-making positions, and the brand identity and mission of each assigned account. The role requires a deep understanding of B2B solutions sales psychology. We follow a well-defined sales process that helps sales professionals identify the customer’s unique needs and clearly communicate the value of partnering with Calyx Containers. NAMs must demonstrate mastery of the dynamic compliance requirements and automated equipment that supplement the product expertise. Our co-founders started this as a packaging design company and moved to UT to construct one of the most advanced digital printing innovation centers in the country. We recently launched Calyx Cure, a cultivation technology that is already gaining traction, and we need help progressing our product roadmap from here. This position is required to be in-person at the Calyx Spaceship (our manufacturing facility & HQ) in Salt Lake City, UT. Responsibilities
Key stakeholder in driving revenue with Calyx’s key strategic Tier 1 & 2 accounts which service multiple markets nationally, and/or globally Meet and/or exceed quota by qualifying and closing net new business opportunities using an established consultative selling approach Act as a trusted advisor and an industry expert to customers, establishing value cross functionally within our customers’ organizations Work closely and communicate effectively with various functional teams including Art Department, Customer Success, Product and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience Manage and forecast for the Retention & Growth pipelines of deals / opportunities through all stages in the sales funnel Report key deal updates and accurate forecast data to sales leadership weekly, monthly and quarterly Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity, forecast and opportunity information in the CRM system (HubSpot) Present holistic solutions for the needs and challenges of prospective customers in a highly dynamic industry Develop expertise on the compliance restrictions and opportunities of child-resistant packaging Develop creative messaging tailored to industry challenges and the value that Calyx offers Stay current on competitor offerings and be able to identify their strengths and vulnerabilities Create Annual Account Plans for and perform Quarterly Business Reviews with all key accounts managed Capture the Voice of Customer and effectively turn customer feedback into actionable strategies to drive new business and address competitive risks Master the automation requirements surrounding all packaging solutions Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced sales team members when required or requested Continuous pursuit of efficiency; reviewing and recommending revisions for process improvements Remote position with expectation to travel 25-50%, visiting every account at least once per quarter Qualifications
B.S. in Sales / Accounting / Management At least 5 years of full cycle sales experience at a B2B company Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and strategic analytical thinking skills Strong track record of success driving revenue through building relationships and creating new business Ability to work well independently and under pressure, as well as be highly responsive to clients Ability to learn, absorb and adapt quickly to ever-changing business priorities Packaging or Cannabis experience a plus Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications; Google Suite, experience with at least one CRM platform About Calyx Containers
