The ADA Title II Compliance Program ensures that all supervisees with disabilities are provided the auxiliary aids and services, as well as other reasonable accommodations, necessary for effective communication and equitable participation in activities, programs, and services while under supervision.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The ADA Title II Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the ADA Title II program by assessing the accommodations requested by supervisees with disabilities, responding to ADA related inquiries from supervisees and staff, gathering relevant information and documentation to make an informed decision on the approval or denial of reasonable accommodation requests or to respond to ADA grievances.

The ADA Title II Compliance Analyst will fulfill agency compliance requirements related to conducting communication assessments and developing communication plans for deaf and hard of hearing supervisees which may include traveling to DCS facilities throughout the state when necessary for effective communication.

The ADA Title II Compliance Analyst will gather and submit ADA compliance documents to the Attorney General’s Office every 90 days as well as conduct periodic audits to ensure that all ADA compliance requirements are met.

The ADA Title II Compliance Analyst will assist Field staff with requesting interpreting or other services as needed for interactions with supervisees with a disability. This may include assisting with obtaining quotes for services from approved vendors on the statewide contract.

Draft policies and procedures that pertain to the ADA Title II program for review by the ADA Coordinator.

Research ADA law to determine best practices and make recommendations concerning ADA related issues to the ADA Coordinator.

Draft, review, and update ADA related training presentation materials; conduct ADA related trainings; and attend ADA related trainings.

Create, update, and maintain data spreadsheets for tracking completion of internal and external Communication Assessments, Communication Plans, and ADA Reasonable Accommodation Request forms.

Assist with other duties as assigned to support the ADA Title II Compliance Program and team as needed.

Competencies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization, time management, and critical thinking skills required. Ability to explain and interpret pertinent provisions of laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the preferred applicant must possess two or more of the following:

Bachelor degree in a related field.

Two years experience working in a capacity that required knowledge of disability laws and policies.

Demonstrated proficiency in using Google Workspace and e-signature platforms (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, Adobe) for at least 12 months in a professional capacity

Documented experience in developing and conducting professional compliance-related training materials for audiences of 20 or more individuals

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Prgm Consultant 1 (GSP090) or any other combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.
