About The Role

Western Security Bank is hiring an experienced Commercial Lender with a minimum of 6 years Commercial/Credit experience. Commercial Lenders support the Commercial Loan Department by building relationships and obtaining and/or maintaining commercial loans. The Commercial Lender is responsible for taking commercial loan applications, interviewing loan clients, analyzing financials, determining appropriate loan pricing and structure, and making appropriate commercial lending decisions (within assigned lending limit) and/or presenting loan recommendations to the WSB Loan Committee. The Commercial Lender contributes to overall growth and profitability and works independently as well as in cross-functional teams with various levels of knowledge to accomplish position/department/customer goals within regulatory/policy guidelines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create and/or maintain a targeted portfolio size up to $20M. Meet or exceed loan production goals. Approve or deny credit to commercial customers. Identify and develop profitable relationships with new and existing customers through business development measures. Obtain loan applications, interview customers, collect and analyze financials to determine credit worthiness, pricing, and loan structure while focusing on prompt and fair service regardless of approval or denial. Ensure accuracy on loan documentation; ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to loan closing and in compliance with state and federal regulations, bank policy, and compliance regulations. Monitor loan delinquency and proactively identify credit problems; manage loan accounts for current documentation, performance, and total bank relationship; respond promptly to exception and compliance error reporting to prevent or minimize potential losses. Stay current on loan programs and lending regulations (federal and state) as well as all compliance and bank policies; participate in the preparation and presentation of commercial training sessions. Ensure proper and timely disclosure requirements and that disclosures are completed within federal time limits. Identify and develop profitable relationships with potential new customers by participating in civic and community activities. Maintain an ongoing relationship with the existing customer base; be proactive in identifying potential business opportunities outside the Commercial Department and refer to the appropriate department or officer. Maintain a working knowledge of all bank products and services. Maintain an aggressive customer call schedule. Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Western Security Bank. Provide superior internal and external customer service; demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external and internal customers. Represent Western Security Bank in a professional manner, including a professional image, confidentiality, a positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. All employees are accountable for compliance with applicable laws and regulations; participate in required training to become familiar with legal and regulatory requirements affecting job responsibilities (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC). Complete required bank and OnCourse training courses within assigned time frames. Represent Western Security Bank professionally, maintain confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs; keep work area tidy and protect customer privacy; attend and participate in meetings as required. Additional duties as requested or assigned. About You QUALIFICATIONS: High School degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field from a four-year college or university preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Strong interpersonal communication skills including customer service orientation and listening skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with customer service experience; strong listening skills. Performs complex banking tasks requiring logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Leads and directs the work of other employees and may have authority for personnel decisions and budgeting impact. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and detail-oriented abilities. Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail. Professional conduct, courtesy, and tact in fast-paced, deadlines-oriented environments. Ability to work quickly and accurately; meet multiple deadlines and make decisions guided by regulations, policies, knowledge and experience. Mathematical and reasoning skills applied to the job. Problem solving and sound judgment in decision making. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site as needed. Must be able to maintain regular attendance and be able to climb/descend stairs in emergencies. Specific lifting abilities required: up to 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects including the human body. Specific vision abilities required: close visual acuity for data preparation, reading, and computer tasks. What We Offer

Starting salary is dependent on relevant experience and may vary by location.
