Position Summary
The Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating Bucks County Community College's annual fundraising strategy, with a primary focus on donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade across multiple channels. This role leads the College's annual fund program, including print and digital campaigns, appeals, the Day of Giving event, and so forth, and serves as a key driver of philanthropic participation, pipeline growth, and revenue generation.
The Manager of Annual Giving works collaboratively across Advancement, the President's office, and academic units to align fundraising efforts with institutional priorities and donor interests. This position is revenue-focused.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Annual Giving Strategy & Campaign Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving plan aligned with revenue and participation goals. Lead multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, digital giving, recurring gifts, and special appeals. Design, implement, and evaluate the College's annual Day of Giving, including campaign themes, goals, segmentation, and post-campaign analysis. Coordinate with internal and external vendors for design, printing and mailing of solicitation pieces. Manage campaign calendars and coordinate timelines with internal partners. Donor Acquisition, Retention & Upgrade
Develop donor acquisition strategies focused on alumni, parents, employees, retirees, and community supporters. Partner with appropriate colleagues, particularly alumni relations, student affairs, and academic affairs, in identifying and engaging donors at the annual giving level Implement donor retention and upgrade strategies, including renewal campaigns, donor giving societies, and targeted outreach. Collaborate with the Manager of Alumni Relations & Stewardship to align giving society benefits and recognition. Identify donors with potential for deeper engagement and refer qualified prospects to major gift staff. Data, Analytics & Performance Management
Use CRM and fundraising data to segment audiences, track donor behavior, and evaluate campaign performance. Monitor progress toward annual giving goals and prepare regular performance reports. Analyze response rates, ROI, and donor trends to inform strategy adjustments. Recommend improvements to enhance participation, revenue, and donor experience. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement
Partner closely with Marketing and Communications and/or external vendors as needed to develop compelling fundraising messaging and creative assets. Collaborate with advancement colleagues, the President's office, academic leaders and program staff to identify funding priorities and donor stories. Support institution-wide initiatives and special projects requiring annual fund integration. Coordinate with Advancement colleagues to ensure a cohesive donor journey. Budgeting & Vendor Management
Manage annual giving budgets and track campaign expenses. Work with external vendors, consultants, and platforms related to annual giving and digital fundraising, as needed. Ensure responsible stewardship of resources and strong return on investment. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in annual giving, fundraising, or development within higher education or nonprofit organizations. Demonstrated success managing annual giving campaigns or donor programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting donor-centered messaging. Proficiency with donor databases and CRM systems; DonorPerfect experience preferred. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to analyze data and translate insights into action. Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience managing a Day of Giving or comparable digital fundraising campaign. Familiarity with donor segmentation, lifecycle fundraising, and pipeline development. Experience working with email marketing platforms and digital fundraising tools. Knowledge of best practices in annual giving and donor engagement in higher education. Experience collaborating with marketing, alumni relations, or academic partners. Comfort working in a resource-constrained environment with high expectations and visibility. Professional Competencies
