The pay range is $163,000.00 - $294,000.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. About the Role
As the
Director of Cybersecurity - Data Privacy and Insider Threats , you will drive the vision and strategy for Target's Data Protection and Insider Threat programs. You will oversee teams focused on implementing controls, processes, and policies to safeguard sensitive data and manage insider threat responses. Enhance and evolve capabilities to prevent data loss, misuse, or unauthorized exposure. Lead the Insider Threat operations, focusing on detection, response, and prevention of malicious insider activities. Develop enterprise-wide policies concerning data governance and security controls. Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology functions to strengthen the insider threat posture. Provide strategic direction for security programs, addressing enterprise risks. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration. Serve as a trusted advisor on insider threat risks and data protection practices. Responsibilities Develop and execute long-term strategies for Insider Threat and Data Protection programs. Establish robust monitoring, detection, and response capabilities using advanced security technologies. Create and enforce policies for data management, handling, and protection. Identify and mitigate enterprise-wide risks associated with insider threats. Build strong relationships across the enterprise and influence security enhancement initiatives. Drive cross-functional efforts and collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and business teams. Oversee team management, including coaching and performance development. Communicate technical issues and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Stay informed about emerging threats and best practices to enhance program capabilities. About You 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on insider threat or data protection. Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cybersecurity teams. Hands-on knowledge of security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, RBA, and DLP. Strong problem-solving abilities for complex technical issues. Proven ability to build partnerships and influence enterprise strategies. Effective communicator of technical concepts in various settings. Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. In-depth understanding of the insider threat landscape and modern data protection practices. Self-motivated learner who remains current with cybersecurity trends. This position will operate as a
