Job Description:

The position serves as a key strategic partner to the Chief Analytics Officer in development of organizational data and analytics strategy and executes transformational data initiatives across the Select Health enterprise. The primary focus of this role is to deliver a portfolio of data products on a modern data platform, enabling AI and analytics transformation throughout the organization. The leader guides high-impact teams distinguished by their expertise in healthcare data and technology, working collaboratively with business, clinical, and technology leaders to deploy world-class data products and capabilities.

Essential Functions

Develop and execute comprehensive multi-year strategic plans for the team, ensuring these plans are aligned with broader enterprise data and analytics initiatives and Select Health strategic objectives.

Leads data-portfolio management and resource allocation processes to align team priorities with those of the market and overall system.

Accountable of enterprise value creation with data through strategic governance and resource optimization and KPI governance.

Lead the development of data engineering practices and collaborates with Information Systems partners to align data architecture to the broader enterprise architecture and integrates data governance practices into teams' ways of working.

Provide ongoing strategic leadership and direction for assigned functions, consistently challenging the status quo and evaluating existing processes in comparison to industry standards, both within and beyond the healthcare sector.

Manage business and stakeholder relationships by focusing on solutions and strategies that result in mutually beneficial outcomes for both internal and external analytic organizations.

Frequently interface with executive management, distilling complex subjects into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making processes.

Manage Select Health instance of Databricks and ensures transition to the cloud results in highly-curated, AI-ready data products.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of professional experience in data and analytics, with demonstrated experience in project prioritization and management. Alternatively, a minimum of fifteen years of management experience, including seven years leading system-wide data or analytics projects. Degree must be from an accredited institution and is subject to verification.

Proven ability to develop and implement complex system solutions.

Extensive experience providing consultation and coaching to leaders, customers, and peers on data analysis best practices, trends, tools, and techniques.

Strong understanding of programming and software engineering principles relevant to the development of data science systems.

Experience in developing best practices for enterprise data engineering and ensuring key data is consistently available through self-service tools.

Demonstrated success in managing advanced data analysis projects within healthcare or insurance settings.

High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to view failure as an opportunity for learning and growth.

Deep understanding of cloud platforms and accompanying technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, business management, or economics.

Experience working in a health insurance organization.

Additional Information

This is an exempt, full-time position. Pay offers are determined by prior years of relevant experience within the established pay range.

In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition,, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The role requires the ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while performing work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$77.50 - $119.68
