Director of Data Architecture and Analytics
The Director of Data Architecture and Analytics leads Future Energy's business intelligence (BI), reporting, and ERP integration strategy to support the company's growth as a Managed Services Provider. This is a hands-on, client-facing, role that balances technical execution with long-term planning. The Director will develop reporting solutions for clients, ensure ERP and software product data are mapped effectively, and manage limited external resources to deliver timely, accurate insights. While primarily focused on BI and ERP integration today, this role provides a pathway to broader IT leadership as the organization grows.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsibility #1 - Data Strategy & Client Reporting • Design and implement BI/reporting solutions using internal tools. • Work directly with clients to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable dashboards. • Manage recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs, ensuring responsiveness and quality. • Translate business needs into structured, repeatable BI outputs.
Responsibility #2 - ERP/Data Integration • Lead ERP integration and define data mapping strategy for ERP and proprietary systems. • Develop sustainable approaches for storing, securing, and managing company and client data. • Create workflows to ensure ERP reporting is accurate, consistent, and scalable. • Oversee data processes that associate ERP and client-facing products.
Responsibility #3 - IT Infrastructure & Resource Coordination • Provide light oversight of internal IT infrastructure (SaaS platforms, cloud environments). • Coordinate small teams of external Zoho consultants and BI developers. • Ensure external resources deliver high-quality solutions aligned with Future Energy standards. • Collaborate with fractional CTO on cybersecurity and vendor management where needed.
Responsibility #4 - Strategic Alignment & Growth • Develop an IT/data roadmap that scales with MSP business growth. • Provide leadership team with recommendations on technology needs to support subscription model. • Position IT as a driver of client engagement, adoption, and renewals. • Build foundation for future IT leadership responsibilities (cybersecurity, vendor management).
Position and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Data Architecture, Computer Science, or related field (Master's a plus). 8+ years of progressive BI, ERP integration, or Data Architecture leadership experience. Expertise with Zoho stack (Zoho Analytics, Zoho CRM, Zoho Creator); experience with other BI/ERP platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SQL) valuable. Proven experience in ERP data mapping, reporting pipeline development, and BI dashboard delivery. Strong client-facing skills to capture requirements and present solutions effectively. Experience managing external consultants or developers. Hands-on technical expertise in BI and ERP data integration. Ability to translate complex data into actionable client insights. Strategic thinker with execution mindset in a small-company environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with client-first approach. Ability to balance multiple client and internal requests in a fast-paced setting.
