A Hands-On Finance Leadership Role in a Growing Construction Organization
We are hiring a Director of Finance and Operations to lead the financial backbone of a fast-growing, multistate commercial construction company. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance leader who enjoys being close to the business, partnering with ownership, and driving profitability across active job sites.
This is a
hands-on leadership role , not a desk-only position. You will guide strategy, strengthen processes, and support daily operations while building a high-performing accounting team.
Why This Role High-impact leadership position reporting directly to the CEO Influence financial strategy across 50+ active job sites Strong, stable company with approximately $16M in annual revenue Opportunity to improve systems, processes, and visibility across the business Collaborative, close-knit team environment What You Will Do Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team Own financial planning, forecasting, and job profitability Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, AIA billing, and retention Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and multistate labor requirements (CA and NV) Improve workflows, implement SOPs, and reduce inefficiencies Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, systems, and operational decisions What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in construction or subcontracting Strong experience with job costing, WIP, AIA billing, and certified payroll Multistate payroll and compliance knowledge (California and Nevada required) Confident, trustworthy leader with a hands-on approach Compensation and Benefits $130,000-$165,000 base salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off, holidays, and sick time Ready to Lead
