Senior Enterprise Application Architect
Location- Washington, DC Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Overall Purpose of the Position
The Senior Enterprise Application Architect supports the Information Technology team by designing solutions and validating technology architectures for prioritized upcoming projects. The role includes analyzing current systems, identifying opportunities for AI?driven innovation, and recommending enhancements that optimize business operations, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable value.
Scope of Work
Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to evaluate existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
Ensure seamless integration of new solutions with existing systems, platforms, and infrastructure.
Assist in designing architecture and frameworks tailored to business and technical requirements.
Provide strategic recommendations for AI adoption, including identifying use cases, tools, and enabling technologies.
Recommend enhancements to existing systems and propose AI capabilities where applicable.
Partner with business stakeholders, developers, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices and standards.
Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units to maintain alignment on goals, priorities, and deliverables.
Validate architectural designs for new projects to ensure they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
Lead proof?of?concept (PoC) initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies, including AI models and AWS services.
Communicate complex AI concepts and architectural decisions to non?technical stakeholders in clear, accessible terms.
Monitor system performance and continuously optimize for accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
Proactively recommend improvements to systems and processes to drive operational efficiency and business value.
Stay current with advancements in AI technologies, methodologies, and industry trends to inform solution recommendations.
Essential Skills
Expertise in designing and architecting solutions on platforms such as AWS, Appian, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
Strong proficiency in cloud architecture, including AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, and API Gateway.
Experience implementing applications using Java, Python, R, and relational databases.
Solid understanding of application design, data engineering, and data modeling.
Strong analytical and problem?solving abilities, with the ability to translate business challenges into effective, AI?enabled solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross?functional teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Ten (10) or more years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing enterprise applications.
Experience designing and implementing solutions that leverage AI technologies.
Knowledge of ethical AI principles and responsible AI practices.
Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast?paced, dynamic environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Position Details:
Pay Rate / Range:$95-$115/hr
The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
