
Estimator - Civil Construction
Location:
Denver, CO Compensation:
$90K - $140K (based on experience) + monthly car and fuel allowance

Position Overview: The Estimator plays a vital role in preconstruction and business development efforts by developing accurate cost estimates for complex civil construction projects. This role collaborates with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure competitive and complete proposals. The Estimator reviews project plans and specifications, performs detailed quantity takeoffs, and provides sound analysis to support strategic bidding decisions.
What You'll Be Doing:
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, and subcontractor components.
Coordinate bid schedules, proposal deliverables, and project documentation.
Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients to clarify project expectations.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Identify potential risks, cost trends, and value-engineering opportunities.
Work closely with project managers and leadership to align estimates with company objectives and profitability goals.
Maintain accurate cost databases, historical pricing information, and bid records.
Promote teamwork, integrity, and quality throughout the estimating process. What You'll Need:
2+ years of experience preparing cost estimates for civil or heavy construction projects (sitework, grading, wet utilities, or demolition).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Benefits Include:
