
Branch Member Service Representative I

Position Summary:
LAFCU's Branch Member Service Representative I provide excellent member service to Members and Non[1]Members alike that visit one of LAFCU's branches. Provides information and promotes credit union products and services to build relationships. Processes transactions in the general areas of checking, savings, and other credit union products/services. This position is a full-time position and reports to Branch Manager I/II at the employee's assigned branch location.
Job Summary & Standards: Provides exceptional member service while answering questions and accurately processing routine member teller transactions. Proficient in the use of Symitar, cash recyclers, check scanning, PSCU, Star Station, Synergy, and TimeTrade. Maintains cash & negotiables, follows cash drawer limits, and performs nightly balancing. Assist members with requests such as file maintenance, Courtesy Pay, Wire transfers, PRD, Direct Deposit, Check ordering, stop payments, issuing temporary checks, instant issue debit cards, change of address. Initiates conversations and refers opportunities to deepen financial relationships (new consumer accounts, new consumer car / personal / visa / real estate loans, Investment Services, Insurance Services.) Knowledgeable of regulatory guidelines (Reg CC / Funds Availability, Truth in Savings, Bank Secrecy Act, Reg E, Privacy) Performs other duties as assigned by Leads / Management. May also perform Front Desk Functions: Greets and welcomes visitors. Logs visitors in utilizing TimeTrade system for further assistance by an MSR when unable to address their initial requests. Maintains the visitor security check-in/check-out log, issuing visitor passes (badges), and elevator codes according to security policy and procedures. Identifies suspicious transaction activity / complies with BSA & AML. Qualifications & Opportunities:
One month to twelve months of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Includes the ability to operate encoding, coin counting, and cash counting machines. Basic knowledge of established teller procedures and policies. Understanding of Credit Union operations. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information. Salary:
The minimum and maximum base salary range for this position is $20.86 to $29.33 in California. The target starting base hourly rate is between $20.86 to $22.98. This compensation and benefits information is based on Los Angeles Federal Credit Union's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The starting base salary within the range will depend on a variety of factors that may include relevant prior experience and/or education, or skills and expertise.
