About the Role
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Director of Philanthropic Initiatives. This essential role will be responsible for strategically planning and implementing relationship-building efforts and resource mobilization with institutional funders, particularly focusing on engaging family foundations to further our mission. You will collaborate closely with the Development Team and other leadership figures, ensuring a unified approach towards our philanthropic programs, strategic objectives, and long-term goals.
Your key responsibilities will include providing supervision and support to team members, representing the organization in leadership functions, and staying abreast of evolving trends in philanthropy and giving to bolster our fundraising initiatives. Applicants should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in development, with a successful track record in both individual and institutional fundraising.
We are looking for candidates who excel in communication and collaboration, thrive in a diverse and mission-driven environment, and are deeply committed to our mission. Experience in social justice movements or community organizing is highly valued. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of effectively managing a team and budget. Proficiency in Google Suite and database management is required, and fluency in one of our program languages is advantageous. Additionally, the role necessitates excellent self-organization skills, a readiness to travel, and a strong adherence to our values of flexibility, cooperation, and humor.
