About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Collections to lead our extensive collection of natural history artifacts and specimens. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the strategic development, preservation, and accessibility of our collection, which plays a vital role in research, education, and public engagement.
The successful candidate will manage a dedicated team of collection managers, curators, and researchers, collaborating closely with various departments to integrate our collection into the institution's programs and activities. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as natural history, biology, or anthropology, along with substantial experience in collection management and curation.
We seek an individual with outstanding leadership and communication skills who can effectively develop and implement collection policies and procedures. Additionally, the Director of Collections will engage in fundraising and grant writing to support our collection and its initiatives. A deep appreciation for natural history and a strong commitment to our institution's mission are essential.
