Position Overview
The Director of Finance - Foundation provides strategic and operational leadership for the financial activities of a healthcare-affiliated foundation. This role is responsible for maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and serving as a key liaison between the foundation and the broader hospital system.
While this is a director-level position, it functions in a hands-on, manager-level capacity. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging directly in day-to-day financial operations, including detailed ledger work when necessary, and demonstrates flexibility in meeting organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee financial operations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance. Analyze job design, workflows, and operational processes; implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices through professional development and apply insights to ongoing operations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and accreditation requirements; develop and maintain effective internal controls. Develop, monitor, and manage annual budgets to support departmental goals and financial sustainability. Establish, implement, and regularly evaluate departmental goals and objectives aligned with organizational mission and strategy. Serve as a financial liaison between the foundation and hospital system stakeholders. Recruit, train, schedule, motivate, supervise, and evaluate staff; support employee development and recommend corrective actions as needed. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Seven (7) years of experience in a financial leadership role (required). Four (4) years of experience in the non-profit sector (required). Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Public Administration. Experience working within a foundation environment. Required Experience (Must Be Clearly Demonstrated)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Proven capability to lead major initiatives and achieve measurable outcomes. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in complex environments.
