
Job Function:
The Director of Financial Operations serves as a strategic, cross-functional leader responsible for driving alignment, integration, and long-term vision across the organization's financial and operational systems. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Operations, this role partners closely with leaders in Procurement, Travel, Operations, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Information Technology to ensure financial systems and data capabilities are connected, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy.
While this position does not have direct people-management responsibility, it plays a critical leadership role by influencing, coordinating, and guiding cross-functional stakeholders. The Director helps define and advance the organization's data and system transformation strategy, ensuring financial systems evolve with a clear, intentional roadmap that supports continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for Oracle EPM and the organization's business intelligence platform (Domo).
Job Responsibilities:
Enterprise Leadership & Strategy Provide enterprise-level leadership across finance and administrative functions without direct authority, influencing outcomes through collaboration, expertise, and strategic guidance. In partnership with IT, help define and articulate the long-term strategic vision for financial systems and data transformation in partnership with Finance and Administrative Operations. In partnership with IT support, ensure system and data initiatives align with organizational priorities, financial strategy, and continuous improvement objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders by connecting operational needs with system capabilities and future-state planning. Financial Systems & Data Transformation
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Oracle EPM and the organization's business intelligence platform (Domo). Provide leadership and oversight for financial systems transformation initiatives, ensuring efforts are coordinated and aligned with a defined strategic roadmap, in partnership with IT. Partner closely with IT to guide system architecture, enhancements, integrations, and upgrades. Ensure strong connectivity and data flow across financial, procurement, travel, operational, and reporting systems. Business Requirements & User Acceptance Testing
Lead and coordinate the development of business requirements documentation (BRDs) by synthesizing cross-functional input. Support and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs prior to deployment. Advocate for strong documentation, data governance, testing discipline, and user-centered design. Financial Modeling, Analytics & Decision Support
Develop advanced Excel-based financial models to support scenario planning and long-range financial planning. Apply expert-level Excel capabilities, including Power Query and Power Pivot, to transform and analyze complex datasets. Partner with FP&A and Accounting to support forecasting, long-term planning, and evaluation of strategic initiatives. Ensure models are well-documented, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data standards. Reporting, Business Intelligence & Data Visualization
Design and support dashboards and analytics using business intelligence platforms to provide actionable insights. Ensure alignment between Excel-based models, Oracle EPM outputs, and BI platforms for data consistency. Promote best practices in data visualization and financial storytelling. Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance
Collaborate with leaders across Procurement, Travel, Operations, Accounting, FP&A, and IT to align systems and processes. Support governance practices related to system changes, data definitions, and reporting standards. Serve as a central point of coordination for financial systems-related initiatives. Job Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information systems, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Significant experience in financial operations, financial systems, analytics, or enterprise financial support. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query and Power Pivot. Experience developing scenario planning and long-range planning models. Hands-on experience with business intelligence platforms (Domo preferred). Demonstrated ability to partner with IT and business stakeholders on system initiatives.
Preferred:
Experience with Oracle EPM or similar enterprise planning systems. Experience with supporting organization-wide data or system transformation initiatives. Strong influencing and facilitation skills in a matrixed environment.
