
A family-owned sheet metal contractor is hiring a Junior Estimator to join a best-in-class estimating team known for precision, detail, and winning complex bids. This role is responsible for supporting accurate project forecasting by analyzing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, assisting with scopes of work, and learning how labor, materials, and systems come together on real construction projects. You'll work side-by-side with senior estimators, fabricators, and vendors while developing the skills needed to grow into a high-earning estimating career. Salary Range:
$28.00 - $38.00 / Hour DOE
Junior Estimator Responsibilities:
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for sheet metal, metal panels, and related systems Assist in developing scopes of work and bid proposals with guidance from senior estimators Calculate material quantities, labor hours, equipment needs, and waste factors Research pricing and coordinate with vendors and internal fabrication teams Prepare and organize bid documentation for timely submission Communicate with general contractors and project stakeholders regarding bids Support post-award handoff to project management teams Maintain accurate records of bids, takeoffs, and estimating data Junior Estimator Requirements:
1+ year of experience in sheet metal, roofing, waterproofing, or a related trade Ability to read and understand architectural and construction plans Strong math skills and comfort working with measurements, quantities, and percentages Experience using Bluebeam or similar estimating/takeoff software Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail Confident communicator who can work with contractors and internal teams Comfortable completing takeoffs with limited supervision Benefits:
