Overview

Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and detail?oriented Customs Entry Writer to support their import operations. This role involves preparing and submitting import documentation, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and coordinating with various partners to ensure smooth cargo clearance. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling a steady volume of entries and has a strong understanding of HTS classification, duty assessment, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities Prepare, review, and process customs entries for air and ocean shipments, including CBP Form 7501 Handle Importer Security Filings (ISF/10+2) and ensure timely, accurate submissions Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) Ensure compliance with CBP and Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.) Calculate duties, taxes, and applicable fees based on value, origin, and trade programs Perform high?volume data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as documentation discrepancies, customs holds, exams, CF28/CF29 requests, and release delays Communicate with importers, carriers, truckers, CBP, PGAs, and internal teams to facilitate timely clearance Maintain organized and compliant recordkeeping in accordance with CBP requirements Stay informed on regulatory updates, trade changes, and compliance standards Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or Import Specialist Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and import procedures Proficiency with HTS classification and duty calculation Experience using brokerage software (CargoWise preferred) Ability to manage high?volume data entry with accuracy Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and problem?solving abilities Ability to work independently while collaborating with an on?site team Customs Broker License is a plus, but not required

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $55,000.00 - $85,000.00
