What you will do:
The Sales Finance Manager is a pivotal strategic leader within the Commercial Finance group, directly shaping the financial trajectory of Tillamook's Brand and Commercial business. As a trusted advisor to the Sales organization at Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA), this role drives the development and execution of financial strategies that enable sustainable, profitable growth. The Sales Finance Manager leads a high-performing team, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and business partnership, and is instrumental in aligning financial planning with the company's long-term vision. Specifically, this position will play a key role in partnering with our Revenue Growth Management (RGM) group to optimize trade spending, analyzing customer profitability, supporting strategic sales partnership with our Foodservice and Ingredient Sales group, and developing a high performing team to achieve Tillamook's business objectives.
Here's a day in the life:
Strategically assess and interpret the financial performance of Branded, Non-Branded, and Private Label net sales against budgeted targets, identifying key drivers of variance and emerging trends. Synthesize actionable insights and deliver forward-looking recommendations to the Director of Commercial Finance and sales leadership, enabling proactive decision-making and alignment with long-term business objectives. Build and nurture strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Revenue Growth Management, and other Commercial business partners. Act as a bridge between finance and commercial teams, ensuring alignment of goals and seamless execution of strategic initiatives. Craft and present high-impact reports and executive-level presentations to sales leadership, distilling complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations that drive informed decision-making and advance organizational objectives. Serve as primary business partner to the Director of Foodservice & Ingredient Sales & their team to partner on strategic pricing, establish realistic and challenging sales financial targets and expense budgets. Partner with Category Finance Managers to develop and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Branded, Non-Branded & Private Label net sales, aligning with overall company financial goals and strategic initiatives. Provide regular coaching and development opportunities for the Sales Financial Analyst, ensuring the analyst is equipped to take on increasing responsibility and contribute at a strategic level. Support the Financial Analyst in ensuring accurate and timely revenue accruals and reconciliations are completed during each financial period Influence and provide direction for Power BI development to automate access & provide consistent views analyzing customer/channel profitability, pricing, trade and operational spending against key drivers to measure effectiveness of performance. Partner with the RGM Manager to develop customer-specific financial plans to drive profitable growth, including establish guidelines for "what must be true" to hit revenue, profit & strategic targets. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making within the sales organization including channel optimization and new growth initiatives. Support year end audit for all Sales-related accounts. Ensure that all sales and trade related accruals and balance sheet entries are aligned with GAAP and internal procedures and policies. Leverage technology and data to improve data management and automation. Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably within the CPG industry. Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and developing a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key trends and insights into profitability. In-depth knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, ROI and financial modeling. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to a variety of audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software (e.g., ERP systems, financial planning tools). Experience with trade spend management and optimization is highly preferred. Strong understanding of the CPG industry, sales processes, and key distribution channels. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams.
