In this role, you are the primary on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance to team members.\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities:\nEnsures availability, security, and integrity of the SQL Server environment.\nResolves database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues.\nInstalls and configures database management software (DBMS) and applicable service packs and/or patches.\nDevelop and implement database maintenance plans, including performing integrity checks, updating statistics, and monitoring security and hardware resource utilization.\nEstablishes regular backups of databases and transaction logs.\nManages logins and user accounts, including assigning database object permissions and ancillary privileges.\nSchedules and manages jobs for data transfers and sundry procedures and monitors performance and impact on operations.\nParticipates in data modeling and database logical and physical design.\nParticipates in application development processes and code reviews of database objects.\nAnalyzes long-term database performance trends to optimize database and application performance.\nConfigures database server to work with middleware, web servers, and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools.\nConfigures, supports and optimizes replication.\nPerforms acceptance testing on computer systems, applications, and hardware.\nPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nSkills / Previous Experience:\nMore than five (5) years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019/2022, including Availability groups, Database Mirroring, Transactional replication, and Change Data Capture. Systems preferred.\nExperience supporting multiple production, QA, and development servers in large environments (400 plus instances). Minimum Qualifications

Strong DBA experience in working with Oracle 19c.

Must be familiar with 19c Oracle RAC

Must be familiar with Dataguard Physical Standby.

Must have experience with RMAN backup and recovery.

Other skills include export data pump and import data pump utilities, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and ASM (Automatic Storage Management) on Linux.

Must possess strong troubleshooting skills.

Must have strong communication skills, verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience supporting Linux or Unix System Administration, a bonus.

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred.

Familiarity with SQL Server

Support During Normal Business Hours and some off hour.

Support Outside Core Business Hours

Position will participate in an on-call 7 day rotation at least two weeks a month, typically rotating every other week with the primary DBA in support of the Division of Consolidated Laboratory LIMS Database. The on-call rotation begins on Saturday and ends the following Friday. The agency core business hours M-F are 8:15a-5p. Support and availability is expected outside of agency core business hours during the entire on-call period. Position will be compensated 1 hour per day for being on-call Monday-Friday and 2.5 hours per day for Saturday, Sunday or State Holidays. If an event occurs that requires your assistance while you are on-call, additional compensation for actual hours worked (time rounded up in one-hour increments) will be provided. When designated on-call, you must remain available by telephone or email while off site and respond within 30 minutes. This is applicable for the entire assigned duration. You must remain free of the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during on-call periods.\nSeniority level
