Base Pay plus commission (70/30)

Monthly Auto Allowance

Travel within assigned territory, minimal overnights

The Account Manager\'s core responsibility is to drive profitable sales growth and manage the entire sales process within a designated territory, serving both new and existing Airgas customers. This involves selling a diverse range of products, including industrial, medical, and specialty gases, related equipment, welding products, tools, hardware, and safety items. The Account Manager is crucial for ensuring complete customer service and satisfaction by maintaining regular communication with District, Branch, Sales, and Plant Managers. The successful candidate will drive market share growth within the assigned territory and maintain strong customer relationships. Specific duties include: Sales and Business Development: Develop and execute strategic plans to increase Airgas market share.

Proactively qualify and pursue sales leads generated internally within the Airgas organization.

Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.

Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear and consistent communication channels with internal departments regarding customer successes, challenges, new developments, and other customer-specific intelligence.

Keep Airgas management (local, regional, and national) updated on territory performance, individual achievements, and current market trends.

Safety Compliance: Prioritize a safe working environment by consistently adhering to all company safety procedures and practices.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Bachelor\'s degree in a science, business, or related field is required. Up to four years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Sales Experience:

A minimum of three years of proven outside B2B sales experience is mandatory, including success in solution-selling concepts and managing a defined sales territory.

Consultative Sales:

Proven success using a consultative sales approach to establish a comprehensive mix of sales solutions and products by providing multiple layers of customer value.

Business Acumen:

Demonstrated success leveraging understanding of customer business, macro/micro trends, and identifying opportunities.

Technology Proficiency:

Experience with collaborative customer success management platforms, such as Google Space and Salesforce.

Knowledge and Skills

Prioritization:

Knowledge of customer segmentation and the ability to prioritize targeting customers that deliver the highest value to Airgas.

Communication:

Excellent written and oral communication, listening, organizational, and presentation skills.

Industry Knowledge (a plus):

Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, or prior industrial gas/welding supply sales experience.

Other Requirements

Transportation:

Must have reliable transportation, a current driver\'s license, and minimum liability insurance as required by the state of vehicle registration.
