The Event Manager is an individual with experience in the sales process and hotel operations. This role has an assigned quota and is responsible for handling both local catering and group sales.

Responsibilities

Solicit new business, handle inquiries, and service converted groups.

Sell and service Corporate and Social events with or without sleeping rooms; ensure group and meeting planner satisfaction.

Engage in contract negotiations, event planning, menu selection, and servicing groups related to catering and convention services.

Focus on primary sales efforts in Banquet Food & Beverage, Meeting Room Rental, menu upsells, and VIP requests.

Review contracts and facilitate communication before, during, and after events with hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.

Prepare and present effective proposals; maintain organized documentation and reports.

Utilize Hyatt systems to provide Banquet Event Orders and generate group billing estimates.

Coordinate customer service requests required by the client; conduct hotel tours and maintain strong customer relationships.

Participate in, and may lead, event meetings, sales meetings, and other staff meetings.

Collaborate with the sales and catering staff and work closely with the Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Qualifications

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

Refined verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in general computer knowledge

Extremely detail oriented and organized

Preference for candidate who has completed PSS

Experience with luxury weddings, social events, and fine dining

Minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred

Preference for completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training

Preference for selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training

Salary & Benefits Salary Range:

$61,800 to $75,000
