Location: Remote, located easily to visit sites east of the Mississippi; east coast main area.

a mining/minerals background!
A global provider of site-specific products and services for the minerals/mining industry needs a sales manager for the eastern and central U.S.
Focus on hard rock operations - cement, limestone, base/precious metals, iron ore.
Key
Highly site-oriented position. Much more steel toed boots than coat and tie!
Significant experience with the minerals/mining industry – on the “rock” side
Understanding of providing complex services to mining/quarrying – in a long sales-cycle environment
Expertise with entire cycle from cold sales to comprehensive account management
Position
Extensive travel to sites throughout the region
Prospecting to sites – some cold calls, many fully internally qualified leads
Selling integrated product/services on-site as well as some individual products and supplies (consumables)
Build relationships with the mining clients – from ops supervisors to GMs.
Knows how to plan and run trials in operations. Analogous to how reagent or process improvement trials are done in a mill.
Travel: Extensive travel to sites. Likely to be weekly a day or few days at a time. 50%+
At least 5 years in developing/managing business in the minerals/mining industry.
At least some of the above in actual prospecting./outside sales
Proven record of building relationships in the industry toward increasing business
Knowledge of MSHA; ideally have or had a certification at some point
Willing and able to accompany mine personnel throughout an active operation in all (safe) situations
Does not need now, nor will need in the future, a visa to work in the U.S.
