
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
The Packaging Line Operator / Lead Technician is responsible for make-ready, setup, operation, and monitoring of a wide range of filling, packaging, labeling, and coding systems.
This includes automatic filling lines, labelers, packet machines, feeders, coding systems.
This role also includes supervising a small crew of technicians, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output across all production areas.
The Lead Technician will report to the Senior Director of Operations.
Make-Ready & Line Setup
Perform complete setup and changeovers on filling labeling and coding equipment.
Install tooling, adjust guides/nozzles, mount film/label rolls, configure print files, and set sensor positions.
Conduct line clearance and verify all components match batch documentation.
Complete startup checklists and authorize the line for production.
Automatic Filling Line Operation
Operate and monitor filling, capping, crimping, and in-line labeling modules.
Make mechanical and electronic adjustments to maintain speed and product quality.
Address line stoppages and escalate larger issues when necessary.
Respond quickly to alarms and error codes
Log production data including output, downtime, and machine settings.
Coordinate with maintenance if technical issues exceed operator scope.
Labeling equipment
Set up label rolls, calibrate sensors, and adjust label position.
Maintain label application accuracy and resolve jams or skew issues.
Configure size changeovers, wrap systems, and touchscreen settings for product-specific parameters.
Ensure correct product codes, batch numbers, and label formats are set.
Packet machines
Set up forming tools, sealing jaws, cutting assemblies, and film rolls.
Monitor seal integrity, film registration, fill weight, and overall pouch quality.
Troubleshoot sealing, feeding, or misalignment issues.
Semi-Automatic Filling Line
Prepare equipment for specialty formats or small-batch production.
Adjust nozzles, fill levels, gating, and indexing systems.
Supervise manual operators to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Coding Equipment:
Load/edit batch, expiry, and lot codes.
Maintain printhead cleanliness and manage ink/solvent levels.
Adjust print positioning and timing.
Configure messages, Data Matrix codes, or barcodes.
Adjust sensor timing, print distance, and resolution settings.
Ensure clear, compliant coding on all products.
Leadership & Crew Management
Supervise and coordinate a small team of technicians on shift.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.
Train technicians on machine operation, changeovers, quality checks, and troubleshooting.
Act as the primary communication link between technicians, supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams.
Support continuous improvement, cross-training, and team development efforts.
Quality & Compliance
Perform routine quality checks for fill volume, torque, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and print clarity.
Maintain full compliance with GMP, SOPs, batch documentation, and audit requirements.
Report deviations promptly and support root-cause investigations.
Safety & Basic Maintenance
Escalate complex mechanical or electrical issues while ensuring a safe environment for the crew.
Participate in safety audits and improvement initiatives.

Background in, fragrance, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or FMCG manufacturing.
Technical training in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics fields.
Physical Requirements
Standing and repetitive motions for extended periods.
Ability to lift materials up to moderate weight.
Availability for shifts, overtime, or weekend work depending on production demand.
