Position Summary
The Director of Imaging Services provides senior leadership and operational oversight for a large, multi-site imaging portfolio within UCHealth. This role is accountable for the day-to-day and strategic execution of imaging services across a defined regional footprint, while partnering closely with the System Director of Imaging Services to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, strategy, and long-term priorities.
Based at Memorial Hospital Central, this position serves as the primary regional imaging leader, translating system strategy into operational excellence across hospital-based and outpatient imaging locations.
Scope of Responsibility
People Leadership: Nearly 400 FTE across multiple imaging disciplines
Leadership Structure: 7 direct-report imaging managers
Locations:
4 hospital-based imaging departments
6 outpatient imaging centers
Imaging Assets:
9 MRI scanners
12 CT scanners
5 mammography locations, including 2 comprehensive diagnostic breast centers
Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Strategic Execution
Lead imaging services across a defined region, ensuring operational performance, quality, access, and financial results.
Partner with the System Director of Imaging Services to implement system-wide strategy, standards, and initiatives at the regional level.
Provide regional insight, data, and operational feedback to inform system-level planning and decision-making.
Operational Excellence
Oversee imaging operations across multiple hospital and outpatient sites, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Drive consistency in workflows, staffing models, performance expectations, and regulatory compliance.
Leverage analytics to optimize throughput, capacity utilization, equipment performance, and patient experience.
Business Growth & Service Optimization
Identify regional opportunities for service expansion, access improvement, and volume growth.
Collaborate with system and regional leadership to evaluate new technologies, capital investments, and service line enhancements.
Support outpatient imaging growth and specialty diagnostic services aligned with regional demand.
Financial Stewardship
Manage regional operating and capital budgets for a complex, multi-modality imaging portfolio.
Monitor financial performance, productivity, and expense management; implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure fiscal accountability while supporting long-term sustainability and growth.
People Leadership & Culture
Lead, coach, and develop imaging managers and regional leadership teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.
Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and workforce stability across all sites.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the regional liaison between imaging services, physicians, hospital leadership, ambulatory leaders, and system partners.
Build strong relationships with radiologists and referring providers to support clinical alignment and service excellence.
Represent regional imaging operations in system forums, committees, and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a senior imaging leader with experience managing large, multi-site operations and partnering effectively within a matrixed health system. They are operationally strong, financially savvy, and skilled at executing strategy at scale.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Master's degree required (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field)
State licensure if required by law
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in imaging services or a closely related healthcare environment
Registered as one of the following:
Radiologic Technologist (RT) - ARRT
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading regional or multi-site imaging operations
Demonstrated success implementing system strategy at the operational level
Strong background in capital planning, access optimization, and performance improvement
Relevant professional certifications (ARRT, ARDMS)
