SUMMARY

The Innovative Academies of Dayton Public Schools is currently seeking an Associate Director, Budget Analyst. This is a 260-day (i.e. year round), administrative position with paid vacation, holiday, and personal time. This position also includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(includes, but not limited to the following)

Core Responsibilities Prepares and maintains all budgets (Federal, State and miscellaneous grants - in collaboration with Grant Managers). Approves all purchase requisitions submitted by the district for proper USAS account codes. Requests cash for all grants, track cash flows, and submit all final grant reports. Advises the assigned administrator of budgetary and financial issues. Performs basic accounting work according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), established procedures, and applicable state statutes and federal regulatory requirements. Assists the Budget Director in evaluating and approving all personnel requisitions submitted by the district Prepares, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of grant documentation for audit compliance. Generates, reconciles, and ensures the accuracy of financial reports and calculations. Reviews all purchase orders to determine proper coding. Provides budgetary information for program directors and coordinators as related to assignment, meeting with staff as required. Develops spreadsheets, graphs, flowcharts, and other presentation material for trainings. Performs verification and reconciliation of accounting transactions and ensures accuracy for compliance of all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory authority. Resolves

discrepancies Coordinates various financial/budgetary processes as directed by Budgetary Director. Assists with the preparation of School District's Comprehensive Financial Annual Report. Review accounting records and transaction documentation for the purpose of discovering errors in accounting procedures. Assist's Budget Director and Treasurer with financial projections. Performs related duties as assigned by Budget Director or Treasurer. QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. Valid Driver's License Ability to pass a criminal background check BS Degree in Accounting or related area, MBA preferred but not required 2-3 years of working related experience Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) General knowledge of procedures for audit Skilled in reviewing accounting records and transaction documentation for the purpose of discovering errors in accounting procedures Skilled in analyzing general accounting procedures and developing effective procedures to improve the financial record keeping system Ability to prepare reports in accordance with stated guidelines Ability to write clear and concise instructional manuals concerning accounting procedures Ability to conduct professional communication and work cooperatively with external auditors, school officials and coworkers Ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles to the financial record keeping procedures practiced at DPS.
