A Day in the Life as an In-Resident Manager As a Full Time In-Resident Manager at The Coffee Oasis serving at Evergreen Bright Start, your primary focus will be on providing supervision, support, and mentorship to young adults in our voucher-based housing facility. You will work in partnership with Kitsap Mental Health and Bremerton Housing Authority to ensure comprehensive care.
Assist in the orientation of youth experiencing housing instability.
Be on site weekends providing supervision and rotate with other RMs for coverage on evenings and graveyard shifts and on-call overnight for residents' needs.
Participate in nightly rotation with other RMs to provide on-site support 7 evenings a week and weekend days, including a combination of shift and on-site on-call coverage, which may include graveyard shifts.
Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to house rules and program policies, addressing non-compliance with a trauma-informed approach.
Conflict Resolution: Facilitate minor conflict resolution between residents to maintain a peaceful living environment.
Mental Health Support: Provide basic emotional support and referrals for mental health services when necessary, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.
Complete weekly and monthly program reports.
Assist and model housekeeping duties in the facility to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
Ensure a safe environment for fellow employees, partners, and residents.
Help establish healthy habits and life skills such as cooking, shopping, proper hygiene, and financial literacy.
Work with housing managers and partner agencies to reach program outcomes and establish the facility's culture.
Ensure maintenance and minor care of the house, communicating significant issues to Bremerton Housing Authority or overnight trustees.
Contact crisis navigators or first responders for emergencies after hours and communicate care needs with partners while being available for resident needs as a Resident Manager.
Perform additional duties as required to support the organization's goals.
Requirements
Be at least twenty-one years of age.
Be in full agreement with The Coffee Oasis's mission, vision, and core values.
Have at least two years of full-time experience working with adolescents.
Have completed first aid, CPR, HIV/AIDS/Bloodborne pathogen training, and tuberculin test.
Possess current driver's license, access to a vehicle, and personal automobile insurance.
Be trained in crisis response, trauma-informed care, and cultural care.
Have a BA in Psychology or a related field (preferred).
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software. Internet research skills are a plus.
