Overview
HR Transactions Specialist, Fixed-Term. Stanford University Human Resources (UHR) seeks a fixed-term HR Transaction Specialist through the end of October 2026 with experience in high-volume HR transaction work and a commitment to accuracy. The role supports data integrity in PeopleSoft HRMS and Oracle HCM, processes escalated transactions, and promotes best practices across the HR community. The position works in partnership with local HR Management within schools/units and University HR staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of job changes, job postings, hires, terminations, position changes, salary changes, and other operational work. The employee will be a member of the HR Product & Data Management team reporting to the Product Management Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities Core duties include ensuring data integrity in HRMS/Oracle HCM through regular audits and processing escalated transactions. Provide clear, efficient, and courteous support to the local HR community for HR transactions processing. Process a high volume of transactions using standard operating procedures and university guidelines for multiple types of HR transactions, including hiring, personnel changes, reclassifications, and related activities. Exhibit knowledge of a broad spectrum of HR processes, policies, and procedures. Provide direction to clients on how to submit transactions and how to process directly into the HR system verbally or through job aids and templates. Deliver clear and professional written and verbal communications, with active listening and empathy for employees, and maintain professionalism as a public-facing representative of the HR organization. Demonstrate agility and innovation by resourcefully addressing unfamiliar requests, expanding HR knowledge, soliciting feedback, and contributing to continuous improvement of HR service operations. Possess an understanding of Stanford’s business and how HR Product & Data Management enables the HR organization’s success, adhering to SLAs. Support data-driven efforts for system and process improvements and escalate roadblocks as needed. Build trusting relationships with ethical judgment and confidentiality, promoting inclusive opportunities for contributions. Support strategic goals and align actions with Stanford and HR objectives. Perform other related responsibilities as requested; the University reserves the right to modify duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements Education & Experience:
High school diploma and two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in processing high-volume transactions and data management.
Commitment to service excellence and providing accurate, thoughtful solutions promptly.
Effective written and verbal communication; professional tone in phone and email interactions.
Team-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Ability to triage requests and route them appropriately; discretion with confidential information.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Prior experience navigating an HCM system.

Physical Requirements Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and use a telephone. Occasionally write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects up to 10 pounds. Rarely kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls. Reasonable accommodation available upon request.
