We are seeking a Licensed Insurance Agent to join a growing, independent team. The Licensed Insurance Agent will present customized insurance programs and explain complex policy terms. This includes items such as deductibles, premiums, and exclusions. The agent will consult with clients to evaluate their financial situation, existing coverage, and specific risks (e.g., a new home, teen driver, or business liability). The agent will also actively prospect for new business through networking, cold calling, referrals, and following up on marketing leads. Must hold a valid state license in the relevant lines of authority (Property & Casualty, Life & Health, or both).

Responsibilities

Meet clients to evaluate their financial status, current coverage, and long-term goals.

Researching multiple carriers to find the best balance of coverage and price for a client's specific risk.

Handling renewals, updates, and changes (e.g., adding a new car or updating a home address).

Acting as the first point of contact when a disaster happens, guiding the client through the claims process and communicating with the carrier's adjusters.

Meeting with existing clients once a year to ensure their coverage still fits their lifestyle (marriage, new baby, retirement).

Assisting clients with payment issues, reinstatements of lapsed policies, and billing disputes.

Preferred Skills

Experience using Customer Relationship Management software (like Salesforce, Applied Epic, or EZlynx) to track leads and manage client data.

Bachelor's Degree considered a plus.

Ability to pre-screen clients to determine their risk level and eligibility before submitting an application to the carrier.

Basic understanding of financial planning, interest rates (for annuities/life products), and personal budgeting.

Expertise in e-signature tools (DocuSign), virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Teams), and insurance quoting portals.

Sales experience selling insurance or other product considered a plus.

Required Skills

Must hold a valid state license in the relevant lines of authority (Property & Casualty, Life & Health, or both).

Associate's degree or certifications considered essential.

Knowledge of, and experience with the Best Interest Standard.

Ability to travel to clients and prospects throughout given territory.
