Description:
TTSTC - Junior Portfolio Manager (00055728) Join TTSTC External Investments team as a Junior Portfolio Manager. This role performs senior-level asset management, market research, due diligence, investment monitoring, and prepares Investment Committee and Board materials for investments in public and private credit markets. Work involves researching, analyzing, and evaluating fund investments and other investment information to implement approved investment policies and programs. Existing portfolios:
Assist Portfolio Managers and the CIO in evaluating and monitoring existing external manager investments and co-investments, with emphasis on exposures within private credit markets; contribute to asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management; communicate with potential managers; lead portfolio reporting efforts; maintain internal databases and prepare portfolio reviews; analyze ongoing portfolio data; coordinate with consultants to ensure coverage and develop pacing and asset allocation plans. Prospective portfolio relationships:
Support sourcing and underwriting new fund investments with external managers and prospective co-investment opportunities; lead due diligence on prospective opportunities; prepare ad-hoc investment memos and present at Investment Committee meetings; communicate with potential managers regularly. General Research and Analysis & Personal Development:
Aid in developing opportunistic and strategic investment themes; represent the organization at industry events; read macro/microeconomic and geopolitical research; participate in training and development opportunities. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance, accounting, mathematics, business administration, or related field; seven (7) years of total investment experience, preferably in endowment, foundation, OCIO firm, family office, fund of funds, investment bank, consulting firm, or similar organization allocating capital to external investment managers. Preferred Qualifications:
MBA, MSF, JD or other relevant graduate degree; experience in private credit markets. Licenses / Certifications:
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA); Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) are preferred. Licensing:
A valid Texas (or state of residency) driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Requires presenting a state issued driving record for last 36 months, valid license, and proof of automobile insurance at interview. Portfolio Activities
Existing portfolios:
Evaluate and monitor external manager investments and co-investments; contribute to asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management; maintain internal systems and prepare reports for internal meetings. Prospective relationships:
Source and underwrite new investments; conduct due diligence; prepare memos and present to committees; engage with potential managers. General Information
Hours:
Agency standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, 40 hours/week, with occasional evening and weekend hours. Hours may change based on business needs. Some flexible/hybrid arrangements may be available. Benefits:
