
POSITION SUMMARY
The Store Consultant delivers a positive customer experience using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. The role is knowledgeable in print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending FedEx Office products and services. The Store Consultant operates and maintains a wide range of equipment, moves boxes and equipment, stocks materials, manages the production queue and output, handles complex projects, manages retail supplies, and completes tasks based on priority.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other team members in performing store functions
Assists in the training of store team members
Demonstrates consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized needs
Provides customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines and can recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services
Provides an outstanding customer service experience by using consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions
Ensures customer problems are resolved quickly and to the customer’s satisfaction
Takes complex customer orders using order systems and provides accurate pricing information
Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping, including wrapping items, placing them in containers, weighing packages, and labeling parcels
Sets up and operates printing, binding, and related equipment using customer-supplied media and documents
Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly retail store
Performs additional duties as needed
PROFIT
Maintains confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages
Processes financial transactions using a POS terminal, including handling cash and making change
Keeps retail printing and shipping equipment and supplies clean, repaired, and stocked for optimal performance
Stays current on merchandising materials and displays
Prevents errors and waste; may assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close-outs, and deposits
Follows standard operating procedures and applicable policies and safety requirements
SELF-MANAGEMENT
Performs multiple tasks simultaneously
Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store
Able to operate with minimal supervision
Adheres to FedEx Office standards as outlined in the team member handbook
All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
6+ months of specialized experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to stand during the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
Ability to move and lift up to 55 pounds
Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members
Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Regular attendance and ability to report to work as required to support the FedEx Office business
Pay: $19.70 - $23.17/hr
