ABOUT US

Since 1919, Victaulic has led the industry and continues to grow our outside sales team. At Victaulic, we don’t sit back and enjoy success. We move forward and strive to grow.

Position: Balancing Sales Specialist

Victaulic, the global leader in mechanical pipe joining innovations, has the most tenured, largest and best-trained sales team in the industry. We continue to add high-powered sales representatives to our organization and help them build a successful career with an industry leader.

Victaulic sales representatives are out on the road every day, meeting with valued customers, visiting job sites and building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure continued success. Our sales team consists of team players who are self-starters with strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude and a drive to succeed and communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.

What you’ll do

Learn Victaulic’s products and the many ways we can provide solutions for customers to help them get projects done on time and within budget. We offer an excellent training program.

Understand the industry and competitive methods of joining pipe (grooved mechanical pipe joining methods, welding, and flanging) to overcome objections in the field.

As a territory manager, understand construction cycles, pursue major projects (construction, expansion or retrofit), and stay current with market trends and competitor activity. Integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations.

Develop a business plan with the Regional Sales Manager, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans, and strategies to maximize sales potential. Execute all phases of project pursuit and project management—from inception through design, bids, job-site training and support, final commissioning and after-sale follow up.

Gather complete information for quotation requisitions (application, specification, pricing, timing) and lead the inside sales team, engineering and other support staff to meet customer requirements.

Build strong relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers and building/project owners; collaborate with Victaulic distributors and coordinate with other representatives to ensure the best customer experience.

Educate and influence customers about the value Victaulic can bring to their projects. This may include on-site demos, training on installation techniques, and lunch-and-learn presentations for engineers.

Strive to educate customers on why Victaulic products are the best choice, demonstrate overall value, and influence decision-makers to maximize sales potential.

Travel as required by territory; some periods involve heavier overnight travel and exposure to field conditions. Be prepared for physical work and environments on job sites.

Qualities and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; willingness to learn and grow in a value-added sales role.

Previous sales experience selling value-added products/services, preferably in the commercial construction, PVF (pipes, valves, fittings) or mechanical products sectors; though training is provided for success from diverse backgrounds.

Proven sales achievements and a history of developing and nurturing long-standing relationships.

Self-motivated, self-driven, professional appearance, confident demeanor, and engaging personality.

Strong problem-solving, resourcefulness, creativity, organization and time-management skills; solid project management abilities.

Willingness to travel; able to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Ability to handle physical requirements (e.g., some equipment up to 50+ pounds) and varying weather conditions on job sites.

Salary and benefits The salary range for this position is typically between $110,000.00 and $120,000 annually. Top end of the range could be exceeded based on qualifications and experience. This role also includes variable compensation in addition to base salary.
