Counter Sales associate — face of the NAPA retail store, providing automotive parts knowledge and customer service. We are so much more than a Parts Store and are looking for great talent to join our NAPA family. A NAPA Counter Sales associate is the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores with automotive needs. You don’t need to disassemble engines, but you should have background and knowledge of automotive parts. This role is suitable whether you are pursuing a long-term career as a Parts Specialist, seeking full/part-time work, or exploring other careers with us. What you will be doing
Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter and over the phone Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions Provide outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits our NAPA Store Contribute to a positive customer experience with energy in a fast-paced store Welcome retail customers and engage to create a positive consumer experience Use technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system This is the right opportunity for you if you:
Genuinely enjoy helping retail and wholesale customers with auto parts and service questions Have gained parts experience in the automotive industry or through tinkering/repairing cars & trucks Are willing to learn all things automotive if you don’t have the background Want to join a team where you can learn and grow your career What you'll need
Valid Driver's License Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or willingness to learn all things auto parts High School Diploma or GED; technical/trade school courses or degree is a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive in fast-paced retail environments Great listening skills and empathy for customers And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don't)
Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems Customer-centric orientation A S E Certifications (if applicable) What's in it for you
