Position Profile

The Account Manager is responsible for solving critical business challenges and developing new and expanded customer relationships. This role focuses on understanding the customer's environment and aligning Ricoh solutions with mission‑critical goals through strong relationship‑building with decision‑makers and influencers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Execute business development strategies to drive growth.

Understand the customer’s environment and open new doors with decision‑makers and influencers to generate opportunities within new and existing accounts.

Solve critical business challenges—both those shared by the customer and those uncovered through research and discovery.

Focus on how customers are buying, emphasizing their needs rather than predefined products.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Use storytelling to differentiate Ricoh’s capabilities and uncover opportunities aligned to Ricoh’s digital transformation portfolio.

Clearly articulate how buying decisions impact a customer’s financial position.

Develop and confidently deliver compelling presentations both in person and virtually.

Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

3+ years of demonstrated business development experience.

Experience in IT and/or software services is preferred.

Understanding of document workflow solutions and processes is preferred.

Foundational knowledge of P&L components.

Ability to research and analyze customers to enable meaningful business conversations.

Ability to manage multiple accounts while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated success leveraging collaboration to build influence.

Strong understanding of solution design processes.

Ability to bring thought leadership into customer engagements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Keeps current with Ricoh offerings.

Able to assess customer environments and create strategies to expand core services throughout the customer enterprise.

Strong learning agility.

Ability to influence and position favorably within customer approval processes, creating sponsors and advocates.

Working Conditions, Mental & Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in an office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, temperature, and noise levels.

Work assignments vary and require interpreting and applying complex information; preparing and conveying diverse data.

Minimal physical effort required—mostly sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting items under 10 lbs (e.g., files, papers, small parts).

Moderate dexterity needed for tasks requiring calculator use, keyboarding, or basic hand‑eye coordination.

Travel required approximately 20%, which may include overnight travel.
