Summary

Waste Pro is looking for a skilled Sales Representative to join our team and lead efforts in prospecting, business development, and forging strong partnerships with customers, commercial clients, government officials.

Waste Pro is seeking a Sales Representative to drive short- and long-term revenue growth within a defined division area (territory) through targeted prospecting, business development, communication, relationship building, and consultative selling. This role involves developing partnerships with customers, commercial clients, franchisers, business leaders, governmental officials, and key strategic partners to acquire new contracts or extend existing ones for waste and recycling services. The Sales Representative uses consultative/strategic selling skills to understand buying influences and collaborates with the Sales Manager and other internal partners to meet client expectations and close deals. The role also supports prospecting for potential clients in the territory, including municipal opportunities.

Essential Job Functions

Develops maximum potential sales volume and profitability within the defined territory.

Partner with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers to develop short- and long-term strategic market and sales planning.

Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.

Clearly match Waste Pro services to sales support required to meet and exceed customer needs.

Develop a strong customer base within the regional area by calling on prospective customers by phone or in-person visits.

Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.

Drive acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by developing and maintaining key relationships with customers and decision-makers.

Know the competition and use industry/company knowledge to prepare winning proposals.

Coordinate bid and RFP submittal packages with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management to meet specifications, pricing, and professional presentation.

Interface with Waste Pro executives, managers, and customers to target opportunities and actively pursue leads.

Closely collaborate with Region Sales Manager(s) to close contracts through negotiation and adherence to sales strategy.

In partnership with finance and regional management, periodically initiate billing and contract audits to ensure best pricing and accurate invoicing.

Remain involved in complaint resolution and resolve issues per regulations and customer needs.

Participate in community events and activities to promote Waste Pro’s differentiators.

Keep management informed of sales activities that may impact the division, region, or company.

Use available technology to monitor, track, and report sales activity; forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue opportunities.

Collaborate with Corporate Sales, Marketing, and Regional Specialists on press coverage, collateral, advertising, and sponsorships.

Research and stay current regarding competitor services and pricing.

Use standard formats or sales automation tools to maintain status of sales activities.

Other Job Responsibilities

Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.

Employees must keep up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro where applicable.

Any additional job duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (keyboarding, machine operation, driving, etc.) most of the work day.

Properly licensed with ability to drive a motor vehicle extensively within a defined sales area/territory.

Work Environment Normal setting for this job is: Office Setting / Outside Sales.

Qualifications

Education: AS/BA/BS degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience. Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirements.

1-2 years of sales/marketing/business development experience within the Waste Services Industry with emphasis on Commercial Sales.

1+ years of progressive sales experience.

Demonstrated ability to apply consultative and solutions-based selling skills.

Negotiation, bid responses, contract management, forecasting, and reporting skills.

Experience with sales generation, customer interaction, presentation, negotiation, account management, forecasting, pricing, and sales closure.

Strong written and verbal communication, organization, interpersonal, listening, and problem-solving skills.

Professional demeanor with integrity.

Basic understanding of sales automation technology.

Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Ability to develop strategies to increase sales, manage costs, and source opportunities across channels.

Knowledge of the Waste Industry, competitors, and external factors influencing buying decisions.

Problem solving, market research, profitability analysis, pricing, and client relationship management skills.

Autonomy with ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.

Willingness to travel extensively within the defined sales area.
