
Technical Sales Representative - Chemicals

Overview
Aegis has partnered with a chemical supplier who is looking to add a Technical Sales Rep to their team! This individual will work with the Sales Manager to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities as well as manage customer relationships.

Location & Travel This is a field based role that requires around 50% travel, primarily throughout SE Texas and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow an assigned sales territory through new business development and existing customer relationships
Identify customer process challenges and recommend appropriate chemical solutions
Provide on-site technical support to customers in chemical manufacturing plants, oil & gas facilities, and wastewater treatment operations
Troubleshoot process issues and optimize chemical usage and performance
Conduct product trials, sampling, and performance evaluations
Prepare proposals, pricing, and technical documentation
Meet or exceed sales targets and activity goals
Maintain relationships with customer operations, engineering, and EHS teams
Service applications related to treatment chemicals, process chemicals, and specialty additives
Support polymer-based applications such as flocculants, coagulants, and other water-soluble polymers (preferred)
Follow all site safety requirements and company EHS policies
Maintain accurate CRM records and activity reporting
Collaborate with internal technical, operations, and supply chain teams
Qualifications Required
3+ years of technical sales or field service experience in the chemical industry
Experience servicing chemical manufacturing plants, oil & gas facilities, and/or wastewater treatment operations
Strong understanding of industrial chemical applications and processes
Ability to travel within assigned territory
Preferred
Direct experience with polymers (water treatment polymers, process polymers, specialty polymers)
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field
Experience working in regulated industrial environments
Consultative, solution-based selling approach
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate to both operators and engineers
Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills
Self-motivated with strong time management abilities
Field-based role with regular customer site visits
Exposure to industrial and plant environments
