Responsibilities
Perform protection and control designs under supervision of Sr. Engineering staff.
Develop schematic and wiring designs under supervision of Sr. Engineering staff.
Assigns project tasks and provides technical guidance to junior team members on moderate to highly complex projects.
Performs QC reviews for work performed by junior and mid-level engineers and/or designers.
Works with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and will attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to their discipline.
May assist with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR's technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.
Will also be responsible for quality control reviews of projects from other teams on an as needed basis.
Works independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise efforts of less-experienced EIT's and/or Designers.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using standard industry design software required.
EIT or the ability to obtain. Candidates hired without their EIT will be titled "Substation Electrical Designer" and will be expected to receive their EIT for career progression
Previous consulting firm experience.
Local candidate preferred
Experience using standard industry design software required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
5 years of substation design experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Computer skills in Microsoft Office
