Overview
Position Summary
Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes. Install conduit systems, hang light fixtures, install feeder wire and terminate electrical panels.

Responsibilities
Basic tasks Electrician is expected to complete and understand with minimal oversight include:
Underground raceway installation
Overhead Conduit Installation including EMT, GRC, IMC from ½” to 4”
Branch Wire Sorting and Pulling
Branch Terminations on Source and Device/Fixture Side
General Understanding of Lighting Controls
Basic Code Requirements for Other Electrical Systems such as Fire Alarm
Layout, install, repair or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components and fixtures using hand and power tools; based on job specifications, electrical drawings and local codes
Inspect and trouble shoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rules
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including circuit tracers, volt meters, megger, proximity testers and ohmmeters
Install panel boards, transformers, motor control centers and motors
Layout and work from ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, outlet/junction boxes, fixtures and fixture whips
Place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Maintain trade specific tools and are required as shown in Adams Electric’s tool list
Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects
Safety
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eye ware, safety boots)
Assist with administration duties such as preparing Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis and preparation of safety reports
Direct and instruct apprentices and helpers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in safely manner to meet Adams Electric Company requirements
Notify the Foreman when operation could be hazardous or could cause safety violation
Quality Control
Work with foreman to resolve all QA/QC issues in timely manner
Ensure all work is install on time and the quality of installation meets Adams Electric Company standards
Job Task Logistics
Responsible for maintaining and organizing material for current task
Responsible for maintaining and organizing a clean work station and properly storing all material and company tools for task
Electrical Drawings
Responsible for reading and interpreting Electrical Drawings including, but not limited to Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Systems, Nurse Call,
Responsible for reading and interpreting Architectural Drawings in order to coordinate power, lighting and data locations within walls, ceilings, casework, etc.
Review Adams shop drawings with Foreman for task to ensure quality of installation meets Adams Electric Company requirements
Responsible for reading and interpreting BIM drawings including, but not limited to Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Systems, Nurse Call
Pre-Fabrication
Share ideas with Foreman and coworkers and constantly explore opportunities for Pre-Fabrication in all pieces of work
Position Qualification
Education
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
OSHA 10
Apprenticeship program required
4-6 years related experience or equivalent knowledge and experience
