Role context: The position involves designing components or portions of systems, modifying existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. The role utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD, CAM or CATIA, gathers information, performs studies, computes calculations, and prepares rough layouts or sketches to present design proposals. The role coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure ease of manufacture, material availability, and alignment with contractual specifications. This description excludes incumbents who predominantly perform drafting assignments. Responsibilities

Must Have : Associate’s degree or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience. Nice to Have : Prior knowledge of Planning Yard processes and procedures and how this organization functions. Must possess a full understanding of Planning Yard Naval Design (Structure, Foundations and Outfitting). Why HII
