Do you enjoy working outreach events and programs? The Southern Recreation and Leisure Services Division is currently seeking energetic, fun, organized seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill our exiting positions. The community outreach position requires a blend of interpersonal skills, strategic planning, exceptional customer service, and administrative competency. Performance is typically measured by the effectiveness of community engagement, program participation rates, and successful marketing of regional events.

Mobile Unit: Marketing Outreach (starting @ $16.75/hr) Serve as primary point of contact for external customers, ensuring a positive and energetic image for the Mobile Unit.

Duties include:

Facilitate active engagement by promoting and marketing Teen programs, events, and activities.

Represent the organization at community events throughout Southern Prince George’s County to promote internal programs.

Innovate program delivery by developing creative ways to motivate and attract teen participants.

Maintain high standards of customer service for both internal stakeholders and external community members.

Must be outgoing, team‑oriented, flexible, and have excellent customer service skills. Additional on‑site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.

Mobile Unit: Rentals Services/Drivers (starting @ $16.25/hr) Deliver exceptional customer service to internal teams and external community members, ensuring a seamless and positive rental experience.

Duties include:

Provide instructional support and facilitation for various mobile activities, including the setup and oversight of games, supplies, and materials.

Promote community awareness and marketing of rental services across Southern Prince George’s County, targeting schools, libraries, community festivals, and private events like birthday parties.

Ensure safe transport and operation of all mobile units while maintaining a valid driver’s license and completing mandatory on‑site training.

Support event logistics by managing the inventory of materials and ensuring all equipment is "event‑ready" for every deployment.

Must have strong customer service skills, be able to communicate clearly, be able to walk and stand for periods of time, and be available to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Need to be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Additional on‑site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.

Mobile Unit: Artist Instructor/Face Painter (starting @ $16/hr) Deliver exceptional customer service to internal teams and external community members, ensuring a seamless and positive rental experience.

Duties include:

Design and instruct a variety of arts and crafts activities tailored for youth and teen participants.

Provide professional face painting services during community events and mobile unit visits.

Supervise program participants to ensure a safe, creative, and inclusive environment.

Manage art supplies by tracking inventory and prepping materials for mobile deployments.

Must be outgoing, team‑oriented, flexible, and have excellent customer service skills. Minimum age requirement is 16 years old. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.

Mobile Unit: Admin Support Staff (starting @ $16.25/hr) Deliver excellent customer service as the first point of contact for potential clients and community partners.

Duties include:

Coordinate scheduling for outreach appointments and mobile unit deployments to ensure efficient operations.

Manage communications by answering phones and providing detailed responses to rental inquiries.

Maintain digital records to track bookings, customer interactions, and unit schedules.

Must have strong customer service skills, be able to communicate clearly, and work independently. Should have knowledge of computer software and systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Additional on‑site training will be provided. Pay rate based on experience and qualifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for youth/teen participants.

Track attendance, collect evaluations, and support program data reporting.

Assist with outreach and recruitment of program participants.

Represent the organization and program at community events as needed.

Required

Experience working with youth/teens (ages 11 – 18) in educational, youth development, or community settings.

Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work flexible hours (evening/weekend).

Must obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Must attend mandatory training/orientation.
