Overview
Sr Operations Research Performance & Strategy Analyst at Southwest Airlines. You will help maximize revenue by improving the performance of our Revenue Management system through analytics, modeling, and strategic recommendations. You will collaborate with Revenue Management, Pricing, Finance, Network Planning, and Commercial Planning to align strategies with Company goals. Your analysis, opportunities identification, and insights will drive smarter inventory decisions and support strategic changes, contributing to a competitive, low-cost brand and the success of our operation. Responsibilities
Incorporate yield management and pricing concepts with Commercial goals to maximize revenue while maintaining the low-cost brand. Collaborate with senior team members to create reports and strategies that improve yield management and pricing effectiveness and efficiency. Identify opportunities for revenue generation on Revenue Management, Commercial, and Enterprise projects based on analysis and leadership support. Proactively seek opportunities within the normal scope of work and make recommendations based on system knowledge and analysis to improve revenue performance and meet goals. Represent Revenue Management in cross-team discussions with direct leadership involvement. Conduct research, mine data, develop conclusions, and present findings to Leaders for discussion and evaluation. Present and communicate findings to Revenue Management Senior Leaders as needed. Train and mentor junior analysts within Revenue Management. May perform other duties as directed by Leaders. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge in Yield Management, Pricing, reservation systems, Global Distribution Systems, forecasting systems, and optimization. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VBA, slicers), Access, Outlook, Teams, etc. Advanced SQL and database management; working knowledge of Java, Python, or Alteryx. Ability to synthesize information into meaningful patterns and present data for continued analysis. Ability to identify potential problems and recognize issues even when not solving them immediately. Ability to understand implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Ability to solve complex problems using logic and reasoning, including developing unusual or clever ideas when needed. Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience
Advanced level experience and specialized knowledge in: Yield Management (theory, strategy, practice), Pricing (theory, strategy, practice), working with large/complex datasets, high-level analytical problem solving, and SQL. Preferred: Experience with Python, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI. Preferred: Experience in the travel/airline industry. Preferred: Advanced level Revenue Management experience. Licensing/Certification

Competitive market salary from $98,650 per year to $109,600 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
