The Assistant Sports Editor will be responsible for managing sports content, collaborating with writers, editing articles and press releases, and developing engaging stories about local, national, and global sports events. They will oversee coverage of important sports events, particularly in football and other major athletic activities, ensuring accuracy and timely publication while maintaining editorial standards. Qualifications
Strong skills in Sports Writing and general Writing Experience with Journalism and crafting Press Releases Knowledge of Football and other sports, with the ability to cover diverse sports topics Excellent editorial and proofreading skills Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of writers and adhere to deadlines Strong knowledge of AP Style or other editorial standards Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
