Responsibilities
Collect patient intake documents ahead of appointments to streamline processes and reduce paperwork
Answer inbound and outbound calls while collecting essential patient demographics, including personal and insurance information
Verify insurance details, including Medicaid PCP information and out-of-network coverage
Direct out-of-network insured patients to the Office of Financial Counseling and inform in-network patients of their copays and deductibles
Provide detailed appointment information, including time, location, and physician details
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience
Proficient in following oral instructions and possessing basic computer and keyboard skills
Strong telephone etiquette and general knowledge of office machines such as printers and scanners
Exceptional customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in general studies or a related field
One year of experience in a medical office setting
Familiarity with basic medical terminology, with competency expected within three months of hire
Previous registration experience in a healthcare setting
