Overview
The Alliance for Professional Development, Training and Caregiver Excellence is hiring for two Full-Time Instructional Designer positions. The Alliance is a partnership between the UW School of Social Work; Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families; Eastern Washington University School of Social Work; UW Tacoma School of Social Work and Criminal Justice; and Partners for Our Children. The Alliance works to increase the capacity of Washington’s social workers, partners and foster caregivers to support community wellness. We provide education and programs in a variety of modalities so that each adult learner can retain the skills needed to continue to succeed. The Alliance works within the University of Washington School of Social Work (SSW) to promote social and economic justice and enhance quality of life through education, research, and public service. Job Title Instructional Designer

Duties And Responsibilities
Course Design & Development – 75%
Respond quickly to emergent needs and work with the supervisor and project teams to support both long-term and short-term efforts.
Provide instructional design and learner experience design expertise for eLearning projects, and for Instructor Led and Virtual Instructor Led Trainings as needed.
Assist with crafting learning objectives, outlines, learning activities, and assessments.
Collaborate with Curriculum Developers, Trainers, Coaches, SMEs, and other IDs to design and develop courses.
Follow accessibility policies to meet 508 compliance and WCAG standards in all projects and materials.
Support curriculum developers to revise elements in ILT and VILT curricula to meet accessibility standards.
Edit, compress, and integrate videos.
Utilize AI audio generation software to generate audio narration for videos and eLearning projects.
Manage the eLearning development process through multiple iterations of the product.
Receive feedback on designed and developed products, make updates and follow up with the team on decisions about updates.
Graphic Design – 15%
Design and produce informational charts and graphics for learning content
Create custom illustrations or adapt stock images for learning content
Adhere to brand standards, guidelines, templates, and pre-defined models
Other duties as assigned – 5%
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Learning Technology, Computer Science, Curriculum Development, Workplace Learning, or a related field or concentration.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with designing and developing eLearning courses for adult learners.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Additional Requirements
Experience initiating and managing projects and coordinating project teams.
Strong customer service skills and patience.
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Critical thinker with demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
Work independently and as a team member.
Receive feedback effectively by asking follow-up questions, engaging in discussion, and being willing to update materials and projects as needed.
Ability to track tasks to completion and ensure that they are carried out properly.
Ability to work well among diverse populations.
Tools And Models
Experience using ADDIE, SAM, LeaPS, or other Instructional Design models.
Experience using adult learning theories and models to support course design.
Experience incorporating multimedia principles in the design of eLearning courses and other training materials.
Experience with Articulate 360 suite; experience with Captivate, Evolve, iSpring Suite, or similar tools is beneficial.
Experience generating and editing AI audio narration.
Experience with Learning Management Systems native builds and SCORM files.
Experience creating and editing instructional videos using tools such as Adobe Premier, Camtasia, or similar tools.
Desired Qualifications
Experience using Intellum LMS and Evolve authoring tool.
Compensation, Benefits And Position Details
Pay Range Minimum: $81,780.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum: $96,000.00 annual
