Overview
Plein Air Agency is a leading marketing consultancy for the restaurant and hospitality industry, partnering with brands to drive guest acquisition, loyalty, and long-term growth. Our work spans strategy, creative, media, digital, and product — all rooted in a deep understanding of the guest.
We’re looking for a
Marketing Data Analyst
who sits comfortably inside marketing, not adjacent to it. This role is ideal for someone who has partnered closely with marketers, strategists, and clients to turn guest data into decisions — shaping campaigns, optimizing journeys, and uncovering product and menu insights that fuel growth.
This is not a traditional reporting or BI role. Success here comes from understanding how guests behave, why campaigns work (or don’t), and what to do next.
Department:
Guest Engagement
Reports to:
Director of Guest Engagement
What You’ll Do
Build and evolve guest profiles and segments using behavioral, transactional, and campaign data
Analyze campaign performance and optimization opportunities across acquisition, retention, loyalty, and lifecycle programs
Conduct basket analysis, cross-shopping analysis, and product insights to inform marketing strategy and promotional planning
Partner with Guest Engagement and Strategy teams to translate marketing questions into clear insights and recommendations
Identify opportunities to improve targeting, personalization, and message relevance based on guest behavior
Evaluate test-and-learn initiatives (A/B tests, offer strategies, channel experiments) and clearly communicate impact
Develop story-driven dashboards and presentations that help marketers and clients understand what’s happening and what actions to take
Work hands-on with data to pull, clean, and shape datasets as needed to support analysis (with an emphasis on outcomes, not tools)
Who This Role Is For
Someone with a marketing, agency, or consulting background who uses data to guide decisions
An analyst who enjoys collaborating with marketers, not just delivering reports
A storyteller who can connect guest behavior to campaign strategy and business outcomes
Someone excited by retail, hospitality, or restaurant guest dynamics and fast-moving marketing environments
What This Role Is Not
A pure BI or dashboard-only role
A data engineering or backend analytics position
A role focused primarily on building models without marketing application
Requirements
4+ years of experience in marketing analytics, customer/guest insights, or strategy analytics
Prior experience in Marketing, Agency, or Consulting environments strongly preferred
Hands-on experience analyzing guest/customer behavior, campaigns, and lifecycle performance
Strong understanding of marketing metrics such as acquisition, retention, loyalty, repeat behavior, and offer performance
Experience building dashboards and storytelling views for marketers and business stakeholders
Comfortable working independently and owning analyses end-to-end
Technical Skills
Non negotiable: Working knowledge of SQL for querying and shaping data
Non-Negotiable: Experience using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) to communicate insights
Familiarity with CRM, CDP, loyalty, or digital marketing platforms
Exposure to Python or advanced analytics is a plus, but not required
Industry Preference
Strong preference for candidates with experience in Retail, Hospitality, or Restaurant brands
