Responsibilities As a Web and Graphic Designer at CAP, you will create engaging, consistent visual content for internal and external audiences across digital and print platforms. Collaborate with others to design web graphics, social media assets, collateral and promotional materials to strengthen CAP brand presence, and support overall communications strategies.
Manage the creative process from concept to completion while working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout CAP. Translate objectives into clear creative strategies.
Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met. Review work, troubleshoot to ensure consistent messaging throughout all collateral whether print or digital.
Create various design and visual communications supporting CAP’s mission, position and objectives, internally and externally, using current design software, technology and trends.
Source, layout and scale photos, marking them for proper screen values or print reproduction.
Manage budget and track project expenditures by researching, summarizing, and analyzing costs associated with web and graphic design projects.
Handle copyright, reprint, and permission processes.
Work simultaneously on multiple projects.
Web
Design, build and optimize external and internal websites and other online communications.
Familiar with WordPress, HTML, CSS and a basic understanding of PHP, databases (MySQL) and Javascript as well as knowledge of SEO best practices.
Graphic Design
Prepare layouts, designs, artwork and formats for publications.
Design, lay out, and produce artwork such as guidebooks, fact sheets, templates, flyers, logos, graphs, maps, charts, posters, signs and report covers.
Fulfill paid placements and coordinate with external organizations and vendors.
Coordinate all administrative aspects of graphic design and production, including preparing final designs for presentations, checking and approving color, copy, and scaling images for print and online use.
Qualifications
Associate's level degree (or higher) in Fine Art Design, Marketing or related discipline.
5+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency.
Extensive experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Animate for the creation of mockups, web design, multimedia presentation and animation.
Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, and animation.
Excellent communication and social media skills to convey information effectively and use log and reasoning to identify strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
Social media skills to develop ideas creatively that can be effective on various platforms.
Active listening skills required.
Required Certifications or Licenses Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and maintain a good driving record. If candidate is hired from outside of Arizona, must obtain Arizona driver's license within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Adaptive design eye and skill, writing, photography, video editing.
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects and/or other video editing software.
Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism.
Bachelor's degree.
