Position The primary role of this non-exempt position is to work with the Director of Marketing Communications and the Creative team in all aspects of creating, editing, implementing, and managing Haynes & Boone’s creative and design projects from concept through production. This role coordinates with several departments and locations to provide graphic design services, including branding, advertising materials, brochures and flyers, website graphics, templates, client alerts, invitations, PowerPoint presentation materials, edited photography, and infographics, in print and digital formats.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain firm announcements, brochures, client alerts, flyers, advertisements, invitations, PowerPoint materials, website graphics, and infographics.

Design and supervise production of firm promotional materials and gifts.

Coordinate, collaborate, and produce all design requests from intake through completion.

Basic copy modifications, headline creation, and proofreading.

Basic HTML editing for web and digital communications.

Design, format, and update presentation materials in Microsoft PowerPoint, including layouts, master slides, charts, infographics, and attorney-facing content; ensure materials are polished, on-brand, and client-ready.

Assist video editors with basic video updates.

Ensure brand integrity through adherence to Style Guide standards.

Support website projects through content and imagery additions and maintenance.

Retouch and size photography and images.

Create and maintain design templates for reusable pieces such as invitations, newsletters, flyers, and PowerPoint presentations.

Obtain and manage photo rights for rights-managed imagery.

Collaborate with external designers and printers on outsourced projects, review and approve print proofs, and ensure adherence to brand standards.

Other Duties Supports special projects and firm initiatives as needed.

Reporting Relationship The Graphic Designer reports directly to the Director of Marketing Communications. Subordinate Staff: N/A.

Qualifications Knowledge/Experience Experience adhering to and referring to a recognized style guide. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat). Ability to edit basic HTML. Knowledge of basic video editing. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Experience coordinating with external print services and managing print requests including press checks when necessary. Experience taking and editing photos for business use. Experience supporting surveys and questionnaires using tools like SurveyMonkey, including formatting, basic design customization, and presenting results visually. Minimum five years of experience in graphic design, interactive design, and marketing. Professional services marketing experience preferred.

Skills The role requires strong design, communication, writing, and editing skills. Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects under tight deadlines. Able to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to write basic ad copy and headlines. Ability to work in both PC and MAC environments. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation. Self-motivated and independent; able to work with minimal supervision.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Communications.

Physical Demands Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time; otherwise, to remain stationary most of the time. Operates computers and office equipment. Occasionally required to move documents or files up to 15 lbs. Must be able to observe information on a computer screen for the majority of the time and differentiate colors with correct focus.
